Relief-Clay Tile By doing this clay tile, I got a lot of practice for my final relief piece. I was able to work with clay, as well as glaze which gave me an idea of what medium I wanted to do in my final piece. I used both high and low relief, which inspired me in the making of my final relief piece. Therefore, doing this mini-project helped me in my ultimate decision. I think this piece was successful in terms of mixing of glazes, and making a beautiful deep purple, as well as vibrant blues and pinks. However, if I could redo this project, I would take more time in the planning of the piece, and the application of paint and glazes. Relief- Cardboard In doing my cardboard mini relief project, I learned a completely different way to be involved in sculpture. I had no idea that cardboard could be used for relief, and I had no idea that there were so many different layers in cardboard. However, I also learned that I didn't really enjoy using cardboard, and therefore I found out that I did not want to use cardboard in my final relief piece. I think this piece is successful in providing depth to the photo, and utilizing shadows. However, if I were to do this piece again, I would consider painting a more detailed bunny, and making the piece more realistic. (BOOK RELIEF PHOTO)! Relief- Book Carving Doing book relief was a very tedious process, and I actually learned that I have the patience to do this type of relief. I gained strength in the skill of carving, and working with Exact-O knives. I think that the book relief was successful because it was very precise. However, if I could do this over, I would go deeper, and do a more detailed piece. I am interested in doing a full piece through book carving eventually. |
